Jeffery
Kin
Jeffery Kin is pleased to be back as the Artistic Director for
Sarasota Actors Workshop 3rd Season! Jeffery is a local actor,
director, playwright and teacher, who is involved in many areas
of the local theatre scene . As a performer you’ve seen him in
shows like: Sweet Charity and A Chorus Line at The
Golden Apple, Amadeus at Manatee Players and The
Legend of Yin and Yang at The Players of Sarasota. As a
playwright, his plays Always A Part Of Me, Smoking
and Anna Leona & The Lady Luck have all received several
professional productions around the country. His play Anna,
Leona & The Lady Luck won The Players New Play Festival and
several awards (including Best Drama) at The Columbus National
G/L Theater Festival. His musical, Pete’s Repair Shop
was given a roof-raising workshop production as a part of The
Manatee Players New Play Series. Jeffery has directed local
productions like: The Rocky Horror Show (which was
nominated for 5 Handy Awards!) the world premiere of Getting
It Right, The Kathy and Mo Show and The Night Larry
Kramer Kissed Me! He is also the Coordinator for "The Plays
The Thing", a new play reading series at The Players Theatre,
and is on the Board Of Directors for Theatre Odyssey. Jeffery
has most recently been teaching acting classes at The Players
and play writing as part of The Asolo's adult education
program. He is currently focusing on his newest venture, The
Eclectic Theatre Company (etc...) and it’s production of
Got A Minute?. This is a new play festival to
raise money and awareness for breast cancer research. Look for
it September 14, 15, 16 & 17 at The Backlot!!! |

Carole Kleinberg
The former Asolo Theatre Company Education Director
is now devoting
herself full time to directing and teaching master classes for
actors and opera singers.
At the Asolo she managed the Access to the Arts program
for school aged students, presented exciting theatre classes and
workshops for adults, and produced the groundbreaking
Kaleidoscope Musical Theatre program for teens and adults with
developmental disabilities. In
her "up North" career as
Professor of Theatre at Oakton Community College on Chicago’s
north shore, Carole was the lead director for main stage
productions and coordinator of acting programs. She has
directed over 60 plays, including award-winning productions of
The Diary of Anne Frank and The Elephant
Man, and has produced and directed musical revues, which
toured throughout the Midwest. Carole is thrilled
to be part of SAW's third season, and delighted to
have another opportunity to collaborate
with gifted directors Jeff Kin and Amanda Schlachter and this
talented company of actors. |

Amanda Schlachter
Amanda Schlachter is a graduate of The American Academy of Dramatic
Arts and was also a member of their professional performance company.
In addition, she has a B.F.A. in Performance from The University
of Central Florida and intensive training with The Orlando Shakespeare
Festival. Amanda has been a professional actress for ten years
and has been teaching in the area for the last four years. She
has served as The Director of Theatre Arts for The Players Theatre
and created and directed 10 original showcases for multiple theatres.
Favorite directing credits include: Flapper, Music Man, A Midsummer
Night's Dream and Wonderland. |
